What makes TheraStaff different from other therapy staffing agencies?
All staffing agencies say they’re different but few actually are. You’ll notice the TheraStaff difference the very first time you contact us. Our staffing managers are professional, responsive, available 24/7 and most importantly, will keep you abreast of the status of your orders. We invite you to read our case studies to learn more about how TheraStaff is a leader in physical, occupational and speech rehabilitation therapy staffing.
How do you screen and qualify your candidates?
Every candidate we place is screened and interviewed by our staffing managers. All therapists and therapy assistants are required to meet or exceed expectations. Licenses and references are verified and skills are reviewed and evaluated. Prior to hiring a therapist or therapy assistant, TheraStaff conducts:
- Criminal background check
- OIG search (as requested)
- Licensure verification
- No less than two professional reference checks
- Drug screen
- Violent sexual offender and predatory research
And we also include a medical records check, verifying vaccinations and certifications such as:
- TB test annually or chest X-ray every three years
- MMR/Varicella
- Hepatitis B
- Copy of license and verification
- Valid CPR card
- ASHA certification for all SLPs
- NBCOT certification for all OTRs and COTAs
We ensure all other requirements deemed necessary by our client facility and regulatory agencies are met, and the facility has the opportunity to review the documentation and interview the therapist prior to placement.
Do you perform drug screens on applicants for speech-language pathology, physical and occupational therapy jobs?
Yes, all therapists who are hired and referred to a client facility have passed a drug screen.
What is your process for a candidate that is not performing up to our expectation level?
If the staffing manager or client facility feels our rehabilitation therapy professional needs to make a correction or improvement, a structured coaching process is instigated. First, we clearly define the issue and establish expectations through a discussion with the client. The staffing manager then conducts an after-hours counseling session with the therapist, where the issue is thoroughly discussed and corrective action is agreed to.
We note the discussion in the therapist’s file along with what the corrective measures are. We send a written follow up to the therapist and an additional meeting is scheduled, if necessary. Our staffing manager then follows up with our client to be sure that the issue has been resolved adequately.
What markets do you serve?
We currently serve California, Colorado, Indiana and Texas with new territories opening often. If you have a request outside of our primary markets, please don’t hesitate to contact us, and if we can’t assist you, a staffing manager will help you find a solution.
How quickly can you fill a therapy staffing need?
We often fill the order on your first call. If not, we'll work diligently to fill the order ASAP while keeping you informed regularly of our progress. If we feel we will be unable to fulfill a request, we’ll notify you quickly and suggest alternatives.
Are your speech pathologists, physical and occupational therapists and therapy assistants covered by insurance?
Yes, TheraStaff provides liability, malpractice and workers’ compensation insurance on all of our therapy employees. If you’d like a copy of the certificate of insurance, please ask your staffing manager.
How often will we be billed for the hours the therapist works?
Our clients are invoiced weekly. All invoices clearly identify the name of the facility, the hours worked and the agreed upon bill rate.
What is your regular workweek?
All workweeks begin on Monday and end on the following Sunday.
What if there is an error on my invoice?
If you note an error on your invoice, please contact us ASAP or at least within 30 days of the date of the invoice to resolve the issue. We will connect you with our accounting team to make immediate corrections.
